Jim Saksa | Journalist

Hi there! I’m Jim, a Philly guy in DC writing features for CQ Roll Call.

Formerly, I was a reporter at  WHYY, where I mainly covered transportation. I have contributed to Slate, NPR’s Morning Edition, Politico Magazine, The Economist, WBUR’s Here & Now, Philadelphia City Paper, the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia, Technical.ly Philly, and Philadelphia Magazine. Before all that, I made the mistake of working as a corporate attorney.

I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in ‘08 with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and earned a JD from Georgetown Law in ‘11. I then worked for a large law firm in Philadelphia for two years, hating nearly every second of it (the frequent free lunches and sizable paychecks were nice). My law licenses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are currently inactive.
